So I went to the wildlife center expecting to take care of some baby squirrels but for some reason there were only 2 in there, and a sign telling me to go to the avian nursery. o.o They must've released the squirrels too and put all the nursery squirrels in the juvinile crates outside. So I went in and my god was it noisy! Imagine being in a room with 300 birds crying for dinner.
So I went and helped feed all of them, and they were trampling eachother, biring and clawing the others in the crate out of the way to get the food. And often when I opened it one of the birds discovered it would try to fly. One of them even got under the crow cage. O.o I thought it was a gonner....
Second cage I went to there was a dead bird on it's back...It made me sad. But there were plenty more live birds needing tending too so I moved on.
I got to clean cages after that, and again it was a wild goose chase with the escaped baby birds.
And then I did the dishes...sooo much poop. poop in the cages, poop in the food, poop in the nests...I am officially poop desensitized...well, dog and human poop still makes me gag.
And on the ride home, around 11ish there were fireworks right on the 694 highway. well, not literally on but right off it. It was beautiful. I was so close driving to it I could hear and smell it. XD It was awesome yet scary because people were pulled off to the side of the highway in masses to watch it, and other people just kept driving watching it, and swerving around in their lane. XD;; Oh dear, oh dear. And when I got home Minou had thrown up on the carpet....So I clean up animal fluids at work and at home. XD But she was all lovey-dovey following me around and meowing, so I forgave her. Hell, I'd forgive her either way. XD She's too cute to stay angry at.
